E-commerce has just experienced one of the most significant moments in its recent history. Shopify Editions Spring 2026 wasn’t just a bundle of incremental improvements and features; it arrived to break the mold and redefine how brands operate and sell.
Our CEO at Check, Érico, took an in-depth look at the launch. While Shopify’s official page mentions just over 150 updates, our team examined the ecosystem in detail and counted exactly 218 new features across multiple strategic categories.
This Editions brings together three major shifts at once: agentic commerce, AI-powered operations, and Shopify’s definitive positioning as a unified commerce infrastructure.
Below, we’ve highlighted the most important things you need to know to prepare your operation and get ahead in the Brazilian market.

1. The Agentic Channel: The Future of E-commerce Is Here
The biggest highlight of this edition is Shopify’s massive investment in what we call Agentic Commerce. Forget traditional browsing: your inventory now connects directly to where consumers are having conversations.
-
Native Integration with AI Providers: Your store now connects natively to channels such as ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot, and Perplexity.
-
Unified Dashboard: You can manage sales, sessions, orders, and conversion rates from these new channels all on one screen.
-
Optimized Catalogs and UCP: The platform uses the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) and tools such as the Global Catalog and the Storefront Catalog. These translate complex store data (such as prices, inventory, and product attributes) so AI agents can understand it and make accurate recommendations.
-
Higher Conversion with Structured Data: Stores that adopt Shopify’s official taxonomy can achieve up to twice the conversion rate on agentic channels

2. Sidekick Evolves: From Assistant to Autonomous Agent
Originally launched in 2023, Sidekick has evolved far beyond an internal support chatbot. It now acts as a true collaborator for your brand.
-
Actions in Third-Party Apps: Thanks to a feature inspired by Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol (MCP), Sidekick can now answer questions and, more importantly, take action in partner apps integrated with your store.
-
Sidekick Pulse: A new feature that proactively analyzes your store’s traffic, SEO, and pricing data to autonomously suggest improvements.
-
Background Multitasking: You can now delegate a complex, time-consuming task to Sidekick (such as reviewing product descriptions across your entire store) while opening a separate chat to analyze the previous day’s revenue.
3. New Free Tools to Power Your Operations
Shopify has launched a range of native, completely free tools that eliminate the need to subscribe to external optimization (CRO) and testing platforms:
-
SimGym: An app that creates an army of AI agents to simulate human browsing behavior on your store. It generates usability insights before you even have real traffic on your site.
-
Shopify Rollouts: Lets you schedule launches and create native A/B tests for different themes, checkout versions, and customer account pages, with conversion reports delivered automatically.
-
Shopify Smart Pricing: Suggests smart price changes for your products based on sales history, seasonality, expected margins, and competitor behavior.
Additionally, the user experience gets a major boost: customers can now stay logged in to your online store for up to a year, dramatically reducing friction for repeat purchases.

4. Shopify POS v11: Transforming Physical Retail
Unified commerce requires physical stores and online stores to speak the same language. Shopify POS version 11 brings a major usability overhaul focused on productivity:
-
Faster Service: The new sales interface saves more than a minute per customer interaction, giving staff more time to focus on customers.
-
Cross-Store Pickup: If a customer is at Store A and wants a product that’s only in stock at Store B, the salesperson can complete the order right there so the customer can pick it up at the other location.
-
Carts with Multiple Delivery Options: For an in-store order, customers can choose to take one item with them and have another delivered to their home by a carrier. In an online store, customers can choose to have one item delivered to their home and pick up another in-store.
-
Brazil-Specific Features (Logistics and Invoices): Merchandise transfers can now be received directly through POS using barcode scanners. Retailers working with local ecosystem partners, such as those using OMS FullComm, can attach shipping invoices directly to their Shopify operations.

5. Smarter Marketing and Native WhatsApp
In the marketing module, the new feature is called Growth, a centralized section in the admin panel.
-
AI-Powered Multichannel Campaigns: Set your business guidelines (such as discount limits and ROAS targets), and Shopify’s intelligence will autonomously distribute and optimize your budget across channels.
-
100% Native WhatsApp: Through the Shopify Messaging app, your store can now run campaigns and post-purchase marketing automations or send NPS surveys via WhatsApp—all natively, with no extra fees for third-party platforms.
-
Centralized Data: No more jumping from screen to screen. Marketing reports, UTM data, coupons, and return on investment (ROI) are now consolidated in Shopify Analytics.

6. Operations: Vibe Coding, Data, and Advanced Logistics
In Operations, Shopify has taken huge steps to simplify day-to-day management and give brands more creative freedom:
-
“Vibe Coding” Partnerships: In addition to Lovable, Shopify now works with partners such as Manus, Replit, and v0 (from Vercel). This lets you build landing pages and unique visual experiences with AI, while keeping all your catalog, cart, and checkout logic seamlessly integrated with Shopify.
-
Manage Your Admin Through AI Agents: You can now manage your online store by chatting with agents such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity. For example, you can send natural-language commands to have AI upload images to a directory or retrieve sales context.
-
New “Insights” Feature: Forget reports that are difficult to interpret. Insights doesn’t just suggest actions (e.g., “allocate more budget to channel X”); it also explains the rationale behind each suggestion and provides a direct link to the chart that informed the decision. This creates a true native data intelligence platform, combined with the new goals and annotations system.
-
Granular Exchanges and Data Alert: The platform now lets you configure exchange reasons by product type (because the reason for returning a sneaker isn’t the same as for a watch). An important alert: using exchange apps that cancel orders and create “new orders for one cent” will skew your reports and undermine Shopify AI’s analysis. Use the native features!
-
Logistics and Purchasing: Sidekick has gained a new capability: it can now analyze your data and seasonality to suggest purchase orders for inventory. In addition, retailers can update inventory and send notifications faster, and manually confirm deliveries by carriers that aren’t integrated (such as an independent courier) directly from the admin panel.

7. Developers: An Ever-Robust Ecosystem
For those building e-commerce behind the scenes, Shopify Editions Spring 2026 was also a major technical milestone.
-
Technical Focus: More than 50 launches were announced, developed exclusively to empower developers.
-
The Next Level of Customization: These new features open up a vast range of possibilities for complex customizations and API integrations.
-
Expert Support: If your operation has highly specific needs or you’d like to explore this edition’s technical documentation in depth, the Check team is ready to discuss architectural solutions and help design the future of your store.
The ecosystem has come together under the motto of being everywhere (Everywhere). Artificial intelligence is no longer an extra feature—it has become the central engine of the largest commerce infrastructure on the planet.
